Pareidolia
This photo was taken at the start of fall 2021 at one of my favorite trails, Big Creek Trail. Located in the Great Smokey Mountains, this trail follows Big Creek and meanders through a beautiful woodland that offers many fantastical scenes. Captured while standing in knee-deep water, this photograph showcases the power of the creek as it rushes through the rocks. The true wonder of this photograph lies at the top of the scene, where the trees form what resembles a face that opens up and allows the soft light to pour in, bringing everything to life.
This photograph was captured an hour outside Asheville on the North Carolina-Tennessee border, then printed in Asheville by Henco Reprographics.
