From the Dark
aptured on a chilly, foggy fall morning at Glassmine Falls, this tree stretches from the depths of the forest floor toward the sky. Its bare branches are like a contorted skeletal frame engulfed in darkness, searching for a glimmer of light. This tree is a crown of the season, and during the autumn months, Death is king. This photograph is inspired by my love for dark, atmospheric films that draw the viewer into its setting and holds their attention hostage.
This photo was fully produced in the mountains of Western North Carolina, having been printed by us in the Show And Tale studio, and framed at Frugal Framer in the heart of Downtown Asheville. I hope you enjoy this photo, and I thank you for your support and patronage.

Printed on Red River Aurora Art White 285, this 100% cotton rag paper features a brighter white shade for crisp color tones, a semi-smooth surface, and an acid-free base stock and coating. Aurora is 100% fiber made from cotton linters. These linters are considered "recovered fibers" by the EPA. By using linters, Aurora production is using what would have become waste. It's a win for the environment and a win for you!
