Virtual Session

$75. This is available to anyone worldwide. Before our session, you will receive a questionnaire to assess your skill set and areas of interest. This will determine the main focus of our session. I’ll also review monitor calibration and the printing process, and explain why both are important for helping you become a better photographer.

Your 1-hour session is followed up by a 10-minute check-in call one month after your session.​​

All virtual sessions are recorded and sent to the client for their records, along with my notes for improvement in your landscape and nature photography journey.

2-Hour
Virtual Session

$125. This is available to anyone throughout the world. Before our session, you will receive a questionnaire to assess your skill set and areas of interest. This will determine the main focus of our session.

We’ll review your existing portfolio, and you’ll receive a fair and balanced critique of your work. I’ll go over my composition and editing techniques using my photos as examples. We’ll also review monitor calibration and the printing process, and explain why both are important for helping you become a better photographer.

Your 2-hour session is followed up by a 15 to 30-minute check-in call one month after your session.​

On-Location

Session

​​$225. Available for individuals within two hours of the Asheville/Buncombe County area. Once you book your On-Location Session, we’ll schedule a 15 to 30-minute call to discuss your areas of interest and your comfort level hiking. After our initial call, you’ll be sent a list of trails for our session that’ll allow us to practice photography that suits those interests. We’ll go over everything from planning your day, gear, camera basics, settings that will work best for you, and compositional and shooting techniques for particular looks. These sessions have no time limits, as they’ll last as long as our outing takes.

Your On-Location Session is followed up by a 1 to 2 hour virtual meeting to review the photos taken during our outing and discuss post-processing and any other questions you may have.

Photography

Forming connections is an instinctive and necessary part of life, and genuine human connections can be among the most wonderful and fruitful. In my experience as a photographer, it is through a 1.5lb machine that I make some of the most personal connections with people. There must be a level of mutual interest and trust between the subject and the photographer. This kind of reciprocal bond can be formed upon the initial meeting if it’s strictly a business relationship. In other instances, this could be a new bond amongst old friends. No matter the circumstance, the connection that comes with portrait photography is its most important element to me. If one cannot connect to a photo, it’s very difficult to care about it.

Design

Graphic design is what started me down my current path of creative exploration and experimentation. It is in design that I find the most space to breathe while testing the limits of my skill and imagination. As a designer, there is an artistic meditation that I find refreshing when trying to create from a blank canvas. The exercise of translating an abstract idea into a clear visual representation, from start to finish, is one of the most rewarding feelings that I have experienced as an artist. It is this dragon I chase - the desire that I have to outdo everything that I have previously created. It is what pushes me. Without graphic design, Show and Tale would not exist.
